Fresno Chapter joins forces with Raiders group to create Anti-Violence Event

presidentsFRESNO, CA. – The Niner Empire Fresno chapter yet again proves how a well organized group can be a real strength in their community. This past weekend Luis Lozano and his group joined forces with the local Raiders fan group, Raiders of the Central Valley group which is run by Art Perez to hold their first annual “Big Fresno Stop The Violence Rally” event. They promoted the anti-violence event saying, “If we can get along, you can get along”.

While getting the word out Lozano also went on local TV station KSEE’s Central Valley Today Show to promote the event.

The event took months of planning as Lozano and Perez. explained. They said, “We’ve learned how to deal with all the red tape needed to put something like this together and now we’re already getting ready to do it even bigger for next year.”

Booths with venders came from all over the area with many local businesses  sponsoring the event. Minion characters were walking around and dancing with event goers having a great time. 49ers and Raiders fans came out in full force hanging out and mingling with each other throughout the day. There were jumpers and slides where the little ones played. A music stage with live performances from bands, comedians and artists, some of whom came from as far away as San Francisco kept the crowd entertained the whole day.

All in all, this family event was a huge success. Another addition to a long list of community based events the Fresno Chapter takes part in year around including blood drives, charity bowling, highway cleaning among others.

COMMITTED TO THE COMMUNITY

From the start when anyone who joins the Fresno Chapter are taught that they are a community based organization. As part of the initiation process, every member is required to spend a certain number of hours doing community service of their choice.

Their biggest event prior to this Anti-Violence event has been “The Season Opener” Every year, they have a tailgate party which includes raffles, giveaways and photo opportunities with our Faithfuls. While also doing a Women’s Hygiene Drive for the Holy Cross Center. They collect shampoo, conditioner, combs, deodorant, brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, women’s undergarments and toiletries as well as get baby supplies plus diapers, clothes and other baby needs. Below is a picture they sent back in return.
