In this edition of the Ronbo sports weekly, Deforest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, Navarro Bowman, Eric Reid, Reuben Foster, Arik Armstead all stand out as defenders who are recognized for being special. However if you had to give out the team MVP award who would you crown? Buckner would have to be a candidate. Michael Bennett took that line of thinking a step further by calling him the leagues top tough guy. We are going to hear a lot about this defense this season, and there is little doubt concerning that.
Deforest Buckner during last week received praise from Rival Seahawks defensive tackle Michael Bennett. Solomon Thomas has been given the nod by Demarcus Ware, Warren Sapp, and Charles Haley. Reuben Foster has playmaker written all over him. Rashard Robinson brings skills, confidence and attitude enough for the entire group of newest 49ers recruits. It’s being kept on the “down low” volume right now but this 49ers defense is looking so legit that it needs to be loudly appreciated. That is going down today in this Sundays “Week in Review”.
Navorro Bowman leads Malcolm Smith, Ahmad Brooks and rookie sensation Reuben Foster into the the undeniable position of being recognized as one of the finest linebacker assemblies in the NFL to top 49ers headlines in this last week in June. Thank you Willie McGinest!
Keith Reaser, Garrett Celek, Ronald Blair, Victor Bolden, Chris Jones are mostly all going to stay in the NFL, but will it be with the suddenly, and distance above the Baalke era better “next generation 49ers”? Keith Reaser has had a very good camp so far. The switch to the 4-3 defensive system, and his physical stature vaults taller, longer limbed players Dontae Johnson and Akhello Witherspoon more in demand.
In this edition of the Ronbo sports weekly Brian Hoyer will indeed be going deep to Marquise Goodwin, Aldrick Robinson, as well as Pierre Garcon this season. Hoyer so far in this offseason has displayed solid leadership as well as adding direction in Kyle Shanahan’s complicated offensive system.
