London day 1 – After getting up at silly o’clock to pickup Gavin and his family we set out for Heathrow! ..Its was raining in manchester and continued all the way to Daventry where we hit the dreaded matrix signs…M25 Long Delays!!!!…wth…dont they know we have a appointment with the world’s best football team!!!! Quick check of the Sat Nav..ETA 11.59..then.12.15!!!!…what time are the Niners arriving Gavin???…’12.45pm mate’ he said…crikey no more delays or we wont make it!!!!!…the thought of missing a chance to meet the Stars of our football team!!!…nooooooo. Then as if by magic the traffic lifted and the miles decreased! Heathrow 8 miles…Are we there yet the shouts came from the back ..’Nearly we shouted hardly containing our own inner excitement!!! Heathrow appeared in front of us 1200 noon arrived and so had we…are the niners here yet we asked as we met Brian in the Terminal…’Nah mate they are over Ireland’ he said….we waited and waited a little bit more . Then the doors swung open and slowly but surely the players started to advance towards us…all looking tired from their game and long trip…We was happy just to shake their hand…some stopped and signed for us …some stopped for pictures….
Coach stopped and signed everything for us….. Then we heard this big Shout ‘Boobie’ yelled Gavin…and Anthony Dixon was behind us….photo with the kids Gavin asked …Boobie dutifully obliged.
Is that it we asked each other ….where is Patrick Willis? don’t know, did he pass us I asked…and last but not least #52 approached ….Brian couldn’t contain his excitement….Please can we have a photo he asked and Patrick gave us a willing smile…’certainly he said’.
What a gent. and so they drifted off to London and we was buzzing like little kids at christmas!! Did that really happen??? Yes it did and it was fantastic!!!! What a great day .
