Right from the start of the contest the 49ers appeared to be in redeem mode from the ridiculous Minnesota game finish. cornerback Asa Jackson had a beautiful catlike reaction on an interception in the first quarter to set the Niners theme. The 49ers brought the D! There was fumble, after fumble demonstrating Robert Saleh’s mantra of extreme violence, all gas, and no brakes on display the entire contest. Austin Calitro, Dekoda Watson, Quinton Dial, Pita Taumoepenu, and Aaron Lynch put in a hard days work. Will Davis added to the interceptions by picking off a Chargers would be TD in the end zone. The 49ers had defensive control of this game from beginning to end. Continue reading
Brian Hoyer was the complete stud in this game, and Kyle Shanahan gave him the green light to fire away, as he was hitting the 49ers receivers all over the field. Marquise Goodwin was absolute brilliant hauling in a deep pass from Brian Hoyer. Pierre Garcon was tearing up the middle, while Carlos Hyde is catching on to Kyles difficult offense finally! That offense looks as if they are already thinking about game 1 vs the Carolina Panthers. Continue reading
George Kittle is not a 2, Kendrick Bourne has yet to be on the field and not constantly targeted. Aldrick Robinson has yet to make less than a dynamic catch to include yards after the catch. Will they be promoted vs Vikings this Sunday? Kyle has made clear however that he doesn’t base decisions solely on preseason play. Hence the depth chart remains the same original copy. We are seeing a sudden almost emergency need for defensive lineman with the 49ers as John Lynch is bringing in DL personnel a plenty. Are you seeing trade? we are all fully aware of the bond between John Lynch and John Elway. Continue reading
49ers vs Broncos game winning hopes crashed and burned pretty much in the first half as the turnovers were above the points being scored. The 49ers finally got started when C.J. Beathard connected with his Iowa state U classmate George Kittle for a 33 yard touchdown. it was the only good play of the day that wasn’t brought back due to a penalty flag. C.J. Beathard is looking more and more comfy running with the pros as that pass could not have been placed any better. You knew Victor Bolden Jr was going to break one sooner or later!!!!
Meanwhile Eric Reid is looking extremely comfortable at his new position at the box safety. Looks like he is settling in just in time for the week 3 dress rehearsal game coming up against Minnesota next Sunday night!
The Denver Broncos vs the 49ers ended with the Broncos winning the game but both teams were awful. It was a preseason game by every definition of the term. The penalty flag plagued game saw both teams tally up 11 penalty flags apiece. The highlights for the 49ers included 2 touchdowns. Both were scintillating plays. C.J. Beathard hit George Kittle on the sideline of which he tight rope down the sideline for a touchdown, and Victor Bolden Jr. took a kick 107 yards for the 49ers second touchdown. Beyond those two plays that is all the 49ers can claim as positives on this day. Eric Reid is grabbing high praises, as well he should. One thing just about everyone agrees on is that Carlos Hyde may not fit this offensive system.
